Watch TV Online with Joost

Would you watch television on the web if it was free? Some people claim, "Joost would change the way I watch TV. " It broadcasts TV-quality video over the Internet, and lets people stream real TV programs from networks like Discovery or VH1. So would that take the place of a regular television broadcast?

It also has search, chat and IM, as a way of incorporating Web 2.0. Joost lets you do time shifting like TiVo, allowing you to watch the program you want whenever you want to. And the added advantage is that Joost is free, and works with most PCs with a broadband connection. It is invitation-only so far, and it is an ad-supported service but it has managed to generate more than 800,000 registered users.

Based out of London, England, the site can be found at joost.com. Since it's launchin June of 2006, it has managed to receive funding of $45 million .
